Dorothy McCoppin is the Vice President and General Counsel for BlackBrush Oil & Gas L.P.. Prior to coming to BlackBrush in 2005, she held that title for Florida Gas Transmission Company, for whom she worked for 12 years. She has also worked for several other major interstate gas pipelines, including Texas Eastern, Tennessee Gas, Northern Natural, and Transwestern, holding various legal positions. Dorothy has practiced law for 30 years, with most of her experience being in the federal-regulated oil and gas industry, specifically FERC-regulated, natural gas interstate pipeline systems. Her experience includes contract, rate and certificate, litigation, rulemaking, financing, bankruptcy, environmental, enforcement, and compliance and training matters. She has also had experience in municipal law, and was in private practice for several years. Ms. McCoppin has a B.A. from Rice University, Houston, a J.D. from the University of Houston, and an MBA from Our Lady of the Lake University.
